The Salifert Magnesium (MG) Test Kit is an excellent and affordable kit for those who need to test the level of magnesium in their aquarium. The kit uses two reagents, one is a liquid and the other is a powder, and comes with clear instructions that need to be followed fully, to get accurate readings. The liquid reagent comes with a tamper-evident snap ring, while the granular reagent does not have one. One downside is that the kit does not come sealed in any wrap, nor do the chemical bottles have tamper-evident seals. However, contamination would be visually evident, as the red granules are very distinct and regular. The spoon for the Mg-2 powder is 0.05ml, and the kit is not suitable for soil testing. Overall, the Salifert Magnesium (MG) Test Kit is an excellent product, sold at an affordable price. It is capable of delivering accurate readings, provided that instructions are followed fully, and is suitable for at least 25 tests, and probably closer to 50.
