The 1800LM battery-powered LED has four camping light modes that come in handy during power outages, storms, or other survival situations. The lantern is operated by three "D" cells which are more heavy-duty compared to smaller "AA" or "AAA" batteries, according to the manufacturer. It is also convenient that the light use batteries as it eliminates the need for a charger or solar panel. On high settings, the brightness is about equal to a 60-75 watt light bulb and on lower settings, it is not as bright but very usable for when you need to extend battery life. Fresh, quality batteries can also allow the light to function longer. However, the only drawback is that there is no lamp shade to reduce glare. Overall, the LED Camping Lantern is an excellent product that provides a lot of light for its size.
