Product Details
- The name Sun Bin has been considered a legend in China for centuries. Even Mao Zedong was referring to him in his writings, even though what was known about him was just rumors. Although it is known that this famous strategist, who lived in the middle of the States from War period (475-221 BC), wrote an extraordinary book called The Art of War, the book in question was lost. It was revealed that Sun Bin's Art of War was among the tablets found during archaeological excavations on Yingue Mountain in the Shandong region in April 1972. A thousand-year-old riddle was solved and it became clear that the legend was true. Experts state that Sun Bin is a descendant of Sun Tzu. Indeed, there are similarities as well as differences between the writings of both strategic geniuses. Perhaps that is why it is believed that studying Sun Tzu without reading Sun Bin is a shortcoming. In order to eliminate this deficiency, we present this ancient Eastern classic in the field of strategy to the attention of Turkish readers. Show more

Sun Bin , Haluk Hepkon (Çevirmen) Editorial Review
** The Lost Art of War: Classics** "The Lost Art of War: Classics" has garnered a mix of feedback from customers, suggesting that while the book is presumed to be engaging, it leans more toward tactical strategies than the philosophical depth that some readers anticipated. Several reviewers have commented on the book's strategic focus, indicating it does not fully encompass the broader and deeper philosophical insights that one might expect from a work surrounding the principles of warfare. This tactical emphasis may appeal to readers looking for practical advice but could disappoint those seeking a more holistic examination of military philosophy. Moreover, discussions around the context of Turkish literature reflected in the book reveal a concern with how cultural representations are framed—specifically, the notion that various literary traditions are recognized while Turkish literature is not similarly acknowledged. This highlights a cultural sensitivity among readers and may influence their reception of the book within the broader context of international literature. In summary, while "The Lost Art of War: Classics" provides valuable insights into tactical strategies, its reception is tempered by an undercurrent of disappointment regarding its philosophical depth and the cultural implications of its publication. **
